two years after his book about graphic design in swiss industries (story 91), hans neuburg (1904-1983) published this volume which focuses on the chemical industry. the flashy purple jacket lists the book's content in three languages.
it was designed by the same graphic artist, walter bangerter (1907-1986), in a very similar style.
the construction scheme of the book's layout grid is reproduced on the rear jacket.
this copy came with the publisher's flyer laid in.
there are texts by hans neuburg, rené rudin, victor n. cohen and josef müller-brockmann. the typeface is adrian frutiger's univers.

at te 4th Jerusalem International Book Fair in 1969, this book made it among the four "most beautiful book of the world".
