another book published by the "editions des eaux-vives" in zürich (see book story 152). again, max bill (1908-1994) designed it, in a very similar style.

"intime reise" (intimate journey) is by an author i couldn't find out anything about. it also seems to be the only publication of ugo pirogallo – i actually wonder if it's a pseudonym.

acccording to the title page, these poetic texts were inspired by paintings that are reproduced in the book and on the cover. the artist hansegger (johann konstantin egger, 1908-1989) was also the owner of the galerie des eaux-vives in zürich. in 1947 hansegger closed his gallery and later emigrated to the u.s.a. where he continued painting, however in a more "realistic" style.
