many of the most typical swiss graphic designs were ordered by industrial companies. this series of product catalogues and price lists fo the von roll iron works dates from the 1940s-60s. above left a1949 catalogue cover featuring an s-shaped trap pipe, and the von roll logo designed by hans neuburg (see story 91). on the right a mid-1950s' cover designed by elisabeth dietschi (*1926), with a much more elegant looking "straight-through" trap pipe. dietschi's design is featured in book 37.

the typographic organisation of the inner pages is convincing.

dietschi used the trap pipe design in different colour combinations, and sometimes just embossed.

the new typography style title page pictured below could be from the 1920s' ...

for this late 1960s' catalogue the stylized trap pipe was further simplified.
