this is a catalogue for a one-man-exhibition of friedrich vordemberge-gildewart (1899-1962). it was to be shown at the the karl-ernst-osthaus-museum in hagen, but the exact dates are not mentioned.

the impressum credits "typografie: v–g" and states that the catalogue is "distributed by the hochschule für gestaltung ulm" where v–g was a teacher.

small akzidenz-grotesk type in lower-case, and paper in different colours for text and photos are a style often seen in catalogue designs by max bill (the hfg's first director)– see stories 177, 204, 154. page numbers are placed asymmetrically to the left. the colour reproduction above is stunning – printed with individual colours from solid plates, no halftone dots.
