for the jacket of the book on the "history of the earth" richard paul lohse (1902) used his trademark overprinting style , and a similar red/gray colour scheme as for the previous jacket.
akzidenz-grotesk semibold rules on the jacket , ...
... but the rest book is a different story, as usual in this book series.
the author elie gangnebin (1891-1949) was a renowned paleontologist at the university of lausanne, but also known for his cultural and philosophical interests who counted cocteau, ramuz, and strawinsky among his friends.
