the red children's republic is a pictorial book about holiday camps for worker's children organised by socialist youth organisations in late 1920s' germany.
the author andreas gayk (1893-1954) was a journalist for the social democratic party. after 1933 he was shortly in prison. only after 1945 he was active in politics again, for the social democrats.
sansserif type, assymetric title layout, ....
... bold rules and page numbers, ...
... and photomontages are obviously influenced by "new typography".
