artist, architect and designer henry van de velde (1963-1957) was a pioneer of jugenstil (art nouveau) and co-founder of the german werkbund in 1907. he lived for many years in switzerland, and after his death the kunstgewerbemuseum zürich honoured him with an exhibition.

while the exhibition poster was designed by josef müller-brockmann, the catalogue's impressum doesn't credit any designer. unlike most kunstgewerbemuseum catalogues of that era it is set in garamond, not grotesk.

the main text was written by hans curjel (1896-1974). below van de velde's famous bureau and chairs from around 1900.
