swiss tourist posters and brochures from the early 20th century are famous for their design. by the 1930s swiss photographer and graphic designer herbert matter (1907-1984) became a star of this genre (see story 430).

this undated leaflet for davos doesn't credit any designer or author, only the photographer: emil meerkämper (1877-1948) ran a photo business in davos.

the photomontage style is a bit like matter's, ...

... especially the woman "looking" at the location of davos on the map – indicated by arrows, and the overprinted light blue photos with sansserif typography. however also walter kern, the director of the davos tourist office 1930-1943, also designed some davos tourist brochures, but from what i have seen again in a somewhat different style. i have to leave it open ...
