swiss writer cécile ines loos (1883-1959) grew up as an orphan and lived in most difficult economic circumstances throughout her life.

"the quiet passions" was a rather unsuccessful book, inspired by the author's interest in anthroposophy and far eastern (indian) religion, totally forgotten today.
