we have come across the dutch publisher "de gemeenschap" in utrecht before, a stronghold of modernist typography – see stories 274 and 404.
the designer of the spectcular jacket is not credited, but since according to the colophon the book was printed by the lumax company in utrecht ...
... it was most likely designed by andries m. oosterbaan (dates?), lumax' director.
8.100.000 m³ sand was written by m. revis, a pseudonym for dutch journalist and writer willem visser (1904-1973).
