it's always a highlight when i find another bücherkreis book with a great dustjacket designed by jan tschichold (1902-1974). copies with jacket are rather difficult to find, and i am still looking for those still missing in my collection. (if you have some for sale or trade, please contact me!)
this is the german translation of a critical book about the spain morocco rif war by spanish writer ramón josé sender (1901-1982).
the blurb on the jacket says that "the author wrote this book with the blood of his own memories ..." , illustrated by a blood-red map of spain and morocco.
tschichold's typography is neat and beautiful, ...
... with a good mix of typefaces, ...
... and asymmetrically placed page numbers. occasionally there are some lines in arabic writing.
