a collection of essays by german author gerhard zwerenz (*1925) who had left the gdr in 1957 after being expelled from the communist party (sed).

the book was published by the swiss scherz verlag. also very "swiss" is the jacket design in plain white with asymmetrically arranged uppercase helvetica, ...

... designed by kurt wirth (1917-1996), based in bern like the publishers (see also story 661).

the spine title and title page also employ asymmetrical typogrophy, however in garamond type ...

which is used throuout the inside pages.

there is a leaflet laid in promoting the publishers' latest production – also designed in the swiss style..

the jacket's back bears a photo of the author and a blurb in white on black.
