another example from orell füssli's "schaubücher" series (see the previous story), in a slightly larger format. the cover design is very similar in style, ...

... but inside the book has a different look: rudolf koch's "kabel" is a geometric sans-serif with a rather stylish, arty appearance. the introductionary text for this photo book about davos, a swiss mountain ressort, is by german writer kasimir edschmid (1890-1966, real name: eduard schmid).

there are great pictures, some by renowned photographers like gotthard schuh. the photos were selected by walter kern (1898 - 1966), a swiss artist and graphic designer who was director of the davos tourist office in the years 1930-1943. the three photos of the spread below are all about "flying".

there are pictures of celebrities visiting davos, e.g. albert einstein; also mr. edschmid with girlfriend erna pinner and a posh car.
