this brochure was published at the occasion of friedrich vordemberge-gildewart's (1899-1962) 60th birthday. on the cover photo we see the artist's hand at work. v-g designed the brochure in his usual modernist style: lowercase, akzidenz-grotesk, asymmetric page layout and page numbers.

below the introductionary text in geman and english written by richard paul lohse (1902-1988) who initiated and edited the booklet. there are text contributions by jean arp, hans finsler, eugen gomringer, alfred roth, kate steinitz, konrad wachsmann, and others.

there are many photos. below young v–g with friend in his studio (left) which was in the kestner-gesellschaft building (right) and previously used by el lissitzky (centre).
