b. traven (c.1890-1969) was a bestseller writer for the german socialist book club büchergilde gutenberg (more about him in book story 8). because the büchergilde was boycotted by book dealers, the book club established their own "buchmeister-verlag" which published book shop versions of the same books – often identical apart from the publisher's name.

however this edition of traven's 1931 novel "regierung" is different from the büchergilde edition which had the standardized cover design of traven's "caoba" series (like book 8).

the orange cover and dustjacket features sans-serif typefaces for title and author's name.

the title page is symmetric.

the books printed by the buchdruckwerkstätte often used decorated initials in a wide range of styles.
