in story 212 we have come across a tourist brochure for the east german town of halle/saale which was designed by teachers of the kunstgewerbeschule burg giebichenstein.

Book image

apart from the cover, this brochure about "luther in halle" is almost identical in design. the impressum is also in the same style, however it credits "rose schneidewind, kunstgewerbeschule" for the design and typography.

Book image

although not credited, it looks like burg giebichenstein teacher hans finsler (1891-1972) contributed some of the photographs – since at least one is also featured in the "so ist halle" brochure.

Book image

the introductory text is by johannes ficker (1861-1944) who was a professor for church history in halle and a luther scholar.
