hans mühlestein (1887-1969) was a swiss author and well-known scholar of etruscan history. his prize-winning play "menschen ohne gott" (people without god) is about stalin.
the photomontage jacket was maybe based on stage photographs. an interesting detail in the handlettered lowercase title: note the slashed bowl of the letter "o".
