another fine reprint by swiss publisher lars müller of an important book i have not found in an affordable original copy (yet): "gefesselter blick" (caught eye), originally published in 1930, is an overview of some of the most influential modernist graphic designers of the time.

the book's design by "brüder rasch" (rasch brothers) is a perfect match for its content: photos and sans-serif, asymmetrically arranged in the "new typography" style. stuttgart-based designers/architects heinz rasch (1902-1996) and bodo rasch (1903-1995) are also featured in the book.

among the included graphic designers: "bill-zürich" ...

... i.e. former bauhaus student max bill, and ...

... jan tschichold, of course.
