another "bücherkreis" book that is typical for jan tschichold's (1902-1974) early work for this socialist book club.
typical "tschicholdisms" – apart from the asymmetric, sans-serif title – are the repetition of the spine title on the back cover (see also book 335), and the semicolon after the author's name (see also e.g. book 68).
page numbers are still bold but not as big as in earlier years. note the bullet points separating chapters.
this novel by josef maria frank (1895-1975) is about the life and tragic end of a working class girl – a victim of the restrictive abortion laws also addressed in books 301 and 310.
