eugène-françois vidocq (1775-1857) was a french criminal and prisoner who became a police spy and chief detective. this autobiography reports his adventurous life.
this promotional page lists the advantages of the book club: no member fees, free choice of books for only 3 marks each, while non-members had to pay 4,80 marks per book.
