verlag p.g. keller, winterthur, 1963
printer: a. schöb, zürich
size: 26 x 22 cm
designer: franz fässler
this technical handbook for construction painters and architects was edited by max hochweber (1918-2002) of the empa research institute, and published by the vslf, the union of swiss lacquer and paint manufacturers. the cover illustration demonstrates subtractive colour mixing: interestingly the primary colours are blue and red, not cyan and magenta as commonly uses in colour printing.
the illustration is based on the organisation's logo which is printed on the spine.
the vertical rule of the cover is repeated on the title page.
we find the usual "swiss" ingredients: asymmetric layout with sans-serif type and square photos.
the book was designed by franz fässler (1920-2003), see also story 90.
