this italian monograph on swiss modernist graphic designer hans neuburg (1904-1983) with the title 50 years of constructive graphic design was published in 1982 by milan-based publishers electa within their "pagina" series. neuburg designed the book himself, with his personal logotype on the slipcase and jacket.

max bill contributed the foreword – and the "pagina" logotype on the spine uses a typeface designed by bill.

... and a reproduction of a "neue grafik" cover, the influential magazine which hans neuburg co-edited with lohse, müller-brockmann and vivarelli (see story 260).

the simple, mostly orthogonal construction principles of neuburg's posters are visualised in diagrams.

unfortunately, in this poster of an exhibtion we came across in story 139 the white bars got lost in the printing process. therefore two small plates with correct reproduction were laid in.
