again a design by richard paul lohse (1902-1988) for the büchergilde gutenberg. he is credited in the impressum.
lohse used the same title design for the jacket, cover, and title page. the photo of the shepard relates to the book title, while the leaf on the cover is somewhat odd – it is also encircles the publigher's "bg" logotype!
"nans le berger" by french feminist writer thyde monnier (=mathilde monnier, 1887-1967) was an instant success.
the chapter heads are ranged-left along the page numbers.
