max bill (1908-1994) edited and designed this third volume of a comprehensive book series on le corbusier's (1887-1965) architectural work.
bill alread had designed the jacket of the second volume, see story 248.
the jacket shows photos overprinted by architectural drawings in a different colour, simiiar to bill's later book 12.
the three-column typographical grid of the book is also present in the title page.
note the tiny left and right margins!
this is the second edition of the 1939 original – but the design was not changed.
