... artist/designer hanns hoffmann-lederer (1899-1979) studied at the bauhaus in weimar and then at johannes itten's private art school in zürich-herrliberg. by 1926 he was designing exhibitions and printed matters for the city of magdeburg. after ww2 he became a professor in weimar, and in 1950 he left east germany for darmstadt.
note the very unusual diagonal arrangement of page numbers and bled-off photos!
the ad on the back with its type-set human silhouette is obviously influenced by constructivist/dadaist designs – el lissitzky, kurt schwitters, theo van doesburg ...
