"weekend – and what you need for it" – number 26 of orell füssli's popular "schaubücher" (sb) photo book series, just one number lower than the previous book – was commented by adolf behne (1885-1948), an important promoter of avant-garde art, architecture and lifestyle (see also book 500).

it shares the standardised "new typography" design with large, asymetrical sans-serif titles.

below "a narrow street without air and light" is compared to a garden with the caption: "bright and healthy should be everybody's life".

this is in the same vein as the earlier schaubuch 14.

the book suggests to spend weekends in nature – in caravans or in simple holiday huts such as this one in braunwald, switzerland.
