when the kunsthalle bern organised this exhibition of works by bernese women painters, sculptors and artisans, they also commissioned a local woman for the catalogue design: ...

... the cover is signed "maya allenbach / druck bösch, vogt & co". frida allenbach meier (werner allenbach's (1903-1975) wife frida (maya) allenbach-meier (1907-2002). the three disciplines are symbolised by simple, abstract shapes with dot-screen shadows.

oddly, the year of the exhibition doesn't appear anywhere in the catalogue. we wouldn't know it if a previous owner hadn't pencilled "1947" on the cover.

note the modernist ad for the printing plate manufacturer denz. as usual with kunsthalle bern catalogues of this era there is a ad for the gygi+co. company on the back, designed by adolf flückiger (see also story 485).
