this stunning cover is for a 1954 catalogue presenting the works of kunstgewerbeschule zürich students.
the experimental photograph was also designed by students: the caption on the following page explains the colour mixing principles it is based on. book .
the introduction by school director johannes itten (1888-1967) is followed by a list of teachers.
the text pages are printed on grey paper, the photos on white coated paper.
also max bill often used this concept.
the typography is typical "zurich school", ...
...well, actually all the reproduced students' works.
this eternit plant pot could almost be a sculpture by max bill...
