printer: roto-sadag, geneva (photos)
size: ?? x ?? cm
photographer: emil meerkämper
designer: walter cyliax (jacket + cover), elsa moeschlin (drawings)
"sport in the winter sun" promotes winter sports with texts, drawings and photographs.
the design of the jacket and cover (the latter not present in this softcover edition) is credited to walter cyliax (1899-1945).
cyliax often used handwriting in his photo(montage)-based designs.
interestingly only the jacket mentions "davos-parsenn", the famous skiing area which became easily accessible by cablecar in the early 1930s.
also interesting: the yellow circle letter "o", symbolising sunshine, has been used for the "davos" logotype by the davos tourist office for decades, until today.
skiing pioneer henry hoek (1878-1951) contrubuted a text on his sport, as he did for this tourist guide.
the humorous drawings are by elsa moeschlin, ...
... while the 48 photographs are by davos-based photographer emil meehrkämper (1877-1948).
