.the striking cover features some colourful nautical flags and a photo of a river steamboat, with a sansserif title.

photos of pictoresque towns such as stein am rhein and schaffhausen, ...

... and a text by ludwig finckh (1876-1964), a german doctor and writer who lived in the area. the young finckh had been a friend of hermann hesse; after 1933 he became an active nazi party member.

there is a map printed across the inside of the wrappers.

the signature "cyl" on the cack cover reveals the name of the designer: walter cyliax (1899-1945).
