and now for something completely different – actually more related to another passion of mine, see here ...
this catalogue of gibson, a leading u.s. manufacturer of stringed musical instruments, features a striking modernist cover with an abstract, photogramme-style backdrop and asymmetrically arranged, typeface-mixing titles. note the marketing slogan: the frets around the world are gibson's.
as gibson guitar aficionados can tell, the undated catalogue is obviously from the early 1950s, although some of the photos still show mid-1940s' guitar models (with the famous wartime only a gibson is good enough headstock banner!
the back cover features gibson endorsers such as (jazz) guitar legends les paul, barney kessel, tal farlow, and tony mottola.
